THIS SCHOOL HOLIDAY✨✨✨

A 2hour Class catered for any Zen Yogis to come along and have fun with a Yoga & Craft Workshop this upcoming school holidays with our Zen kids Teacher Haylee. A space where we learn the tools of Yoga and Mindfulness while having loads of fun. A game based workshop packed with movement of body, laughter for the soul, friendships formed, creating take home crafts and embracing the stillness of the mind in our blissful relaxation, guided meditation and massage.

Do you often hear yourself say “I don’t have time for that, can’t you see I’m already so busy”. We live our lives like this until there is an emergency. Then our priorities change and we make the time to fix it. This simple example shows us that what you spend your time on is a choice. What you choose is your priority.

If you only make your health a priority once this year, this challenge could change it for a lifetime.

This lifestyle challenge is designed with the warmer months in mind. Together we will explore how movement, mindfulness & nutrition all work together to support your goals. Whether that’s to lose weight, make more time for yourself, stress less, create work/life balance, have more energy, eat healthy or to get a deeper sense of enjoyment out of life.

With our background in exercise function and always having an interest in what ‘healthy’ means. On our yoga journey we soon discovered that exercise is only one part of the big picture. We call this Zen Flow, the tools and lifestyle practices you can use to get a greater sense of flow, health & happiness in your life.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT TO A TYPICAL YOGA CHALLENGE?

This is an education program rather than just a Yoga challenge. We’ll explore how these three key principals integrate together to support a healthy & happy you.

• Movement

• Nutrition

• Mindfulness

There will be 3 Nutrition Phase meal plans to get you summer ready so you can get the best weight loss results during the Challenge.

You will also have access to a member portal over the next 4 weeks. Here you will find the following resources:

* Weekly meal plans – Mainstream and Vegan dietary options

* Weekly shopping lists

* Blog articles covering all things nutrition and health

* You will also find additional support with your Zen Life Challenge Team.

Our weekly meal plans complete with recipe ideas for both males and females, meal plans, blogs.

• Stress, how to recognise it and skills to manage it

You do not have to practice Yoga every day, we encourage 4 classes per week but if you have an unlimited membership you’re welcome to unroll your mat every day!

◦ You will learn the basics to making healthy choices when it comes to food for the rest of your life. We’ll explore the importance of your digestive system & what is stopping you from losing excess weight or maintaining your ideal weight.

• Education on managing stress

◦ Identifying the three forms of stress (Physical, emotional & biochemical)

◦ The detrimental impact stress causes to our body

◦ Learn simple ways to destress, be present & enjoy life

Functional Movement & Body Alignment

As a society we are obsessed with using exercise as the sole tool to better health.

But, too much exercise or the same repeated movement causes our body stress and in the end it breaks down.

What happens when we change our perspective from exercise to one of movement ?

Exercise is just one area of movement, like green vegetables, are part of a balanced diet,

Movement is the sum of everything we do within a day, walking, sitting, sleeping, exercising,

Not just the 60 minutes you spend at the yoga moving or meditating.

All of this movement adds to a healthy, functioning body & mind.

At this workshop we will learn to:

* Recognise movement patterns that support work, sports and daily activities.

* Understand the true relationship that movement patterns play in our health and fitness goals.

* Identify principles to support the importance of movement.

* Explain the role of mobility, motor control, and functional patterns in fundamental movement.

* Demonstrate the use of Functional Movements with instructions and procedures.

* The five-movement patterns you need to master

* Just ten minutes a day of functional movement can keep the body strong & mobile.

* Simple ways to rebuild the connection between brain & body for optimal function

* Build foundations for a strong functional core (no situps required)

* Break apart fundamental yoga poses & understand the purpose

* Rebuild strength & motivation. Finishing with a Yoga asana alignment & adjustment assisted practice.

Foundations of nutrition - explaining calories and macros and the pyramid (hierarchy of importance for diet)

Importance of fueling correctly (macros around training) to provide your body what it needs

How to calculate a deficit and the importance of tracking

Choosing foods for composition and also mental/emotionally to stay happy, healthy and on track.
